INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM

In line with the mandate of Law (UUD) No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, all higher education institutions are required to implement an Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). The purpose of the IQAS is to ensure that institutional standards not only meet but also surpass the National Standards of Higher Education (SN Dikti). To operationalize the IQAS, institutions rely on a set of documents that serve as evidence of its implementation. These documents enable the systematic establishment, execution, evaluation, control, and continuous improvement of IQAS standards over time.

PPEPP Cycle

PPEPP (Penetapan, Pelaksanaan, Evaluasi, Pengendalian, dan Peningkatan) is closely aligned with the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, serving as a structured framework for quality assurance in universities. In the context of university quality assurance, Penetapan (Establishment) corresponds to the Plan phase, where quality objectives, standards, and processes are defined. Pelaksanaan (Implementation) mirrors the Do phase, involving the execution of planned activities to achieve these objectives. Evaluasi (Evaluation) aligns with the Check phase, where outcomes are assessed against the set standards to identify gaps or areas for improvement. Pengendalian (Control) ensures that processes remain on track, while Peningkatan (Improvement) reflects the Act phase, where corrective actions are taken to enhance quality continuously. Together, PPEPP and PDCA provide a systematic approach to maintaining and improving the quality of education, research, and administrative processes in universities.

Internal Quality Assurance System Documents

The four SPMI (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal or Internal Quality Assurance System) books are essential documents that guide universities in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes. The first book, Buku 1: Kebijakan SPMI (SPMI Policy Book), outlines the university’s commitment to quality, including its vision, mission, and quality objectives. The second book, Buku 2: Standar SPMI (SPMI Standards Book), defines the quality standards and criteria that must be met across academic, research, and administrative functions. The third book, Buku 3: Manual SPMI (SPMI Manual), provides detailed procedures and guidelines for implementing quality assurance activities, ensuring consistency and compliance with established standards. The fourth book, Buku 4: Formulir SPMI (SPMI Forms Book), contains templates and tools for documentation, monitoring, and evaluation, facilitating the systematic collection and analysis of data. Together, these four books form a comprehensive framework that supports continuous improvement and accountability in higher education institutions.
