UIII Undergoes Rigorous Accreditation Field Assessment to Bolster Global Academic Standing

Depok, Indonesia, Saturday, August 2, 2025 — The Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) hosted a pivotal field assessment for its institutional accreditation on Saturday, conducted by Indonesia’s National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT). The event, held at UIII’s campus in Depok, drew 80 participants, including a distinguished team of assessors, university leaders, deans, program heads, faculty members from Indonesia and abroad, and a diverse cohort of international and domestic students. The assessment marks a critical step in UIII’s mission to cement its reputation as a leading global center for Islamic higher education.

The BAN-PT assessors, led by Prof. Dr. Andi Sularso from Universitas Jember, Prof. Dr. H. Syamsun Niam from IAIN Tulungagung, and Dr. Dewi Erowati from Universitas Diponegoro, were joined by accreditation facilitators Sri Wahyuni and Eli Mulyani. Their evaluation focused on UIII’s academic programs, research output, and community engagement, scrutinizing the university’s alignment with national and international standards of excellence. The process included presentations, discussions, and inspections of campus facilities, such as the library, laboratories, and other academic infrastructure, all of which underscored UIII’s commitment to fostering a world-class educational environment.

Academic Excellence

In his remarks, the Rector of UIII Prof. Jamhari emphasized the assessment’s role in advancing UIII’s vision. “This process is a testament to our dedication to academic excellence and our aspiration to position UIII as a future global leader in Islamic higher education,” he said. The assessors commended the university’s preparedness, noting the comprehensive data provided and the collaborative spirit displayed throughout the evaluation. Campus tours highlighted state-of-the-art facilities, reflecting UIII’s investment in creating an environment conducive to cutting-edge research and learning.

Campus Leadership

UIII’s leadership was prominently represented, with M. Rifqi Muna of the Academic Senate, Acting Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, and Acting Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and Business Development Prof. Dr. Amsal Bakhtiar in attendance. The university’s deans—Prof. Yanwar Pribadi (Acting Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies), Prof. Dian Masyita (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business), Philips J. Vermonte (Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences), and Prof. Nina Nurmila (Dean of the Faculty of Education)—played key roles in presenting their faculties’ achievements. Other senior figures, including Prof. Muhammad Zuhdi from UIN Hidayatullah Jakarta, Farid Fachruddin, a special advisor to Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Saiful Umam, Director of Research and Cooperation, underscored the university’s robust governance.

The event was meticulously organized by a team led by Dr. Chaider Bamualim, UIII’s University Secretary, who is also the Acting Head of Quality Assurance unit. The program coordinator of this event is Yanuar Firdaus Arie Wibowo, Head of the Information Technology Center, aided by Regiani Yunistika from the Quality Assurance unit, and Muhammad Yazid, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and International Services, and few other staff members of the university from other offices.

The accreditation assessment represents a strategic milestone for UIII, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality education rooted in Islamic values while competing on a global stage. As the university awaits the results, its leaders expressed optimism that the outcome will further elevate UIII’s standing, fostering greater opportunities for international collaboration and academic innovation.
